For Our Future, Moving Forward

Three years after launching For Our Future, Trafford Centre needed its ESG story to keep earning attention. The strategy was already in place and we needed to show proven progress and keep momentum across the centre showing how a long-term commitment was creating meaningful change.

For Our Future gave Trafford Centre a clear sustainability and social impact platform in 2023. But ESG is not a one-and-done story. As the programme matured, the communications needed to evolve too – staying fresh, transparent and useful for tenants, partners, colleagues and the wider community. The objective was to show measurable progress, keep momentum high, and make a complex operational story feel accessible, credible and engaging.

What began as a new ESG platform has become a living, working story of progress.

The latest ESG Impact Report is interactive, animated and built to make progress easy to understand. The report brought together operational improvements, tenant engagement, community partnerships and future priorities. From green lease clauses and retailer updates to biodiversity, waste, travel and charity activity, we shaped the content into a clear narrative that showed impact, what had changed and what was next.

The latest report shows a strategy with real traction. Energy use reduced, recycling improved, Scope 1 emissions fell, and tenant engagement became more embedded through green lease clauses, retailer forums, the tenant handbook and TC Insider updates.
The latest Impact Report tells a broader story of impact, one that connects the centre with community, retailers, value, accessibility, local partnerships and long-term social good.
