Business Director, PR & Comms

Salary: £75k +(dependent on experience)

Are you looking for your next PR agency role?

A role where your creativity, commercial nous, and love for the craft of PR and comms are recognised, appreciated and encouraged?

A role where you can inspire and encourage a highly creative and motivated team of PR pros, experiential experts, social specialists, creative geniuses, and all round lovely human beings.

A role where you can make headline news for brands and retail giants like the The Trafford Centre, Stabilo and Chelsea Peers?

Then read on my friend, because this could be the last job advert you choose to read…

About the role:

You will have two main areas of focus.

1. Driving the team that makes our clients famous

  • Inspiring the entire agency to produce headline-grabbing work and results. Working closely with and motivating not only your PR team, but also our creative, experiential, and social teams. Encouraging them to push the boundaries when delivering PR stunts, comms, and events.
  • Leading and developing the PR & Comms account team. Taking ultimate accountability of your team, work, accounts, and client relationships. Acting as a mentor and teacher to the team, leading by example and facilitating personal development of staff through guidance and training.

2. Building BWP’s PR offering of the future

  • Identifying opportunities for the agency, and our clients, to grow. Finding ways to expand our PR offering, grow client accounts and win new business.
  • Modernising not only the way we do PR, but also the way our clients, and the wider retail sector does PR. We want to be at the forefront of PR and you’ll be responsible for keeping us there.

About you

Here are our must have’s:

  • 15+ years’ experience in a similar PR agency role managing PR strategy and delivery for both B2B and B2C PR clients.
  • A multi-skilled PR professional with an in-depth understanding of the craft of PR and demonstrable experience across the many tools and strategies PR use – we’re talking digital and social PR, influencer PR and experiential marketing as well as traditional PR, reputation management and crisis comms
  • Can be office-based in Marlow three days a week (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday)

Retail, leisure and property PR experience isn’t essential. We’re happy to receive applications from candidates with big-brand B2B and B2C experience from other sectors who can demonstrate how their experience can help BWP to drive retail PR forward.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Possesses an enviable little black book of media contacts and adept at building relationships with key commentators, industry spokespeople and senior journalists.
  • Is commercially minded with market knowledge across the agency landscape and PR landscape.
  • Can lead a meeting, command the attention of a room and talk with authority at a senior level.
  • Can passionately, enthusiastically, and confidently sell ideas and convince people.
  • Leads by example and acts as a supportive mentor to other members of the team.
  • Inspires other people across the agency and outwardly demonstrates BWP’s values (Brave, Human, Passionate & Impactful)

What we offer in return:

As well as a competitive salary (£75k+) and the standard benefits of 25 days paid holiday (plus bank holidays) and pension scheme, we also offer:

  • Company bonus scheme – if BWP does well, so do you
  • An extra day off for your birthday
  • Bespoke Personal Development Plans – enabling you to develop yourself and this role
  • Company wellbeing programme
  • Thirsty Thursdays, monthly socials and a bangin’ Christmas Party arranged by our social committee
  • A culture of appreciation, reward, and recognition with monthly and quarterly awards
  • A company trip when we hit target – last year we went to Italy, this year we’ve just come back from Barcelona!

If this sounds like the role for you, please send a covering letter and CV to our Talent Manager, [email protected].

We are aiming to appoint the right candidate to start as soon as possible; therefore, applications will be considered as they are received.
