At BWP, we love being part of extraordinary stories – and what a moment to celebrate as Trafford Centre takes home not one, but two prestigious ESG awards!
A double ESG win for Trafford Centre
MAPIC Awards 2024 – Best Sustainable Initiative by a Property Player
Trafford Centre’s groundbreaking ‘For Our Future’ initiative has been recognised at the MAPIC Awards 2024, clinching ‘Best Sustainable Initiative by a Property Player’. This ambitious programme, launched just last year, is making impressive strides towards sustainability through cutting-edge measures such as reducing carbon emissions, promoting recycling and championing responsible manufacturing practices.
Among 154 entries worldwide to the Mapic awards, ‘For Our Future’ stood out in its category, taking the win at the glamorous award ceremony in Cannes. This recognition is testament to Trafford Centre’s dedication to sustainability and social impact . We’re proud to have played a role in supporting this groundbreaking initiative and help to bring the centre’s ambitions and results to life through creative materials, digital content and a robust communications strategy.
Molly from BWP picked up the award and had the honour of attending MAPIC to witness the moment of triumph.
ESG & Sustainability Awards – ESG Impact Report of the Year
Trafford Centre has also been recognised for its 2024 Impact Report, winning the ‘ESG Impact Report of the Year’ at the ESG & Sustainability Awards. This report was celebrated for its transparency, accountability, and forward-thinking planning, with judges praising its creative design and clear impact metrics.
Our Senior Business Director, Sian Kilgour, shares “We’ve loved working with our client partners Pradera Lateral, particularly Matthew Beddow who has lived and breathed this project with us from the start. It is testament to the passion and commitment of Trafford Centre’s ESG delivery team led by Simon Layton, along with the support and commitment of Board Chair Fraser Pearce and CPP Investments | Investissements RPC driving this at Board level, that runs throughout the whole of the centre operations, that we had so much to put into the report and were able to bring its ambitions and actions to life.”
We’re incredibly proud of this achievement on behalf of all the teams who worked on it, and grateful for the opportunity to support The Trafford Centre with its ESG journey.
