Lights, camera, action! Everyone who works in the world of fashion says shoots aren’t anywhere near as glamorous as people imagine them to be, with lots of waiting around and faffing between takes. Those people haven’t been on a photo shoot for Freeport Braintree, our wonderful Essex based designer outlet!
This time it was my turn to head off to Braintree and the super chic location of Down Hall to capture spring/summer trends on camera, and it was as glamorous as Victoria Beckham decked head to toe in diamonds!
The day started early at 4:45am (thank god for Starbucks!) but thankfully the sun was shining and what was a late March morning resembled midday in June.
Our wonderful stylist Claire Wacey and photographer Michael Siggers met myself and the stunning model Ellie and we got straight down to business.
By 9am Claire was pulling Freeport Braintree’s finest designer trends, that she’d sourced the day before, from her Mary Poppins’ case (hello ice cream coloured pastels and misty metallics.) We began by shooting the casual looks around the venue before a hair and make-up change, be-fitting of the TOWIE cast, to capture the glam evening outfits.
Throughout the course of the day and thanks to Michael’s expert snapping and Claire’s super-fast wardrobe changes we shot twelve high fashion looks.
From festival to ‘Best of British’ complete with a Union Jack flagpole, to a Marilyn Monroe inspired wind-swept shot with Ellie strategically balanced on a giant chess board (just go with it!).
It was a hugely successful day with a very happy client and crew and a big thank you goes to all who took part, especially Down Hall who let us snap away all day for free. So, after a day that glam all I can say is role on the autumn/winter shoot!

Loved this shot and it looks great in Centre!
